Our Mission

The mission of the Dr. Emma J. Clark Memorial Foundation, Inc. is to support, showcase and preserve the Dr. Mattie McGlothen Library Museum; develop and support programs, services, and activities designed to bridge the economic, education and social class inequalities and achievement gaps for underserved families and individuals.

About the Foundation

Founded in 2015, the Dr. Emma J. Clark Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to expanding the physical and digital impact of the Dr. Mattie McGlothen Library Museum through increased research and expanded programming. The Dr. Emma J. Clark Memorial Foundation, Inc., oversees the operation and programming of the Dr. Mattie McGlothen Library Museum and helps to promote literacy and ongoing learning while keeping the memory and legacy of Dr. McGlothen alive. We purpose to help strengthen individuals, families and local communities in Richmond, California and the greater Bay Area by:

The Foundation, in partnership with the the Zambia International Mission, helps to support programs and initiatives that serves the underprivileged through relief efforts: developing communities and providing economic empowerment through income-generating activities.
